Three Hour Tours
Our popular and well-loved Shoreline Tour departs from Snug Cove and heads either north to Finisterre Island in view of the Coastal Range and the Lions, or heads south along undeveloped coastline to Apodaca Beach, Bowen’s only Marine Park.
Prepare for close encounters with wildlife. We often see Bald Eagles, seals and seabirds, including Scoters, Goldeneye and Buffleheads. The island’s plentiful deer wander into view above the beaches and, a few times every season, lucky paddlers find themselves a few hundred metres from a pod of White-sided Dolphins or a couple of Orcas.
This tour is suitable for beginners and families with children. We start with on-land instruction to ensure that you are comfortable and confident before launching your kayak.
Two person min., $83 each, advance reservation required.
The full moon rising over Cypress Mountain is spectacular. On a clear night, the moonlight shimmers on the water, illuminating the surrounding shoreline. These views are best seen from a kayak away from city lights. Typically, this special tour is only offered on the two evenings closest to the full moon.
The time we launch from the dock for this tour varies by season. If you need to catch the return ferry to Horseshoe Bay, we guarantee your return in time for the last crossing.
2018 Full Moon tour dates: May 28 & 29, June 26 & 27, July 26 & 27, August 25 & 26, September 23 & 24.
Two person min., $94 each, advance reservation required.
Kayak with us at the most spectacular time of day when the water is rich with colour and wildlife is most active. We depart from Tunstall Bay on the west side of Bowen (shuttle provided) to witness the sun setting on the water. In late summer, we are sometimes surprised by the sparkle of bioluminescence in the wake of a paddle stroke.
Two person min., $94 each, advance reservation required
