Bowen’s Only Kayak and SUP Operator Offers British Columbians the Best in Local Travel
Snug Cove, BC July 2021 marks 25 years in business for Bowen Island Sea Kayaking. As the exclusive operator of kayak and SUP tours on Bowen Island, they’re using this milestone to encourage local travel and give back to conservation efforts to protect Howe Sound.
After taking over the business eight year ago, Owner and Operator Brent O’Malley has worked tirelessly to build a reputation for excellent customer service while providing unparalleled access for paddlers in Howe Sound. O’Malley has this to say about their 25th season:
As the owner of Bowen Island Sea Kayaking since 2014, I am honoured and grateful to be in a position to welcome so many people from across BC, Canada, and around the world, and to share with them the beauty of Howe Sound. I’m proud to have continued upon the many years of success of founder Greg Phillips and then Martin Clarke. We have been fortunate to get through the pandemic intact and are excited about welcoming visitors back to Bowen Island. While I won’t be running things on our 50th anniversary, there is every reason to believe there will be one.
To celebrate this milestone 25-year achievement the following initiatives are underway:
- Bowen Island Sea Kayaking will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each tour to My Sea to Sky. The organization focuses on conservation and raising awareness of issues impacting Howe Sound.
- Discounts and promotions will be offered throughout July to encourage visitors from BC to visit Bowen Island. Only 20 minutes from Horseshoe Bay by ferry, Bowen Island is arguably the best day trip and staycation option in the region.
- Ongoing highlights from local Bowen Island locations and businesses, demonstrating the wide range of experiences available on the island.
