Paddle Canada Basic and Advanced SUP Skills

This full day course bundles the Basic and Advanced SUP Skills Certifications into a single day. These two certifications are the official prerequisites to becoming a Paddle Canada  instructor. Recreational paddlers will gain increased confidence and skills for paddling in a variety of conditions. Some of the skills covered include basic turns, crossbow turns, pivot turns, paddling in wind and small waves, and bracing. Upon successful completion, students will be awarded with the Paddle Canada Basic and Advanced SUP Skills certification.

Dates: Call to arrange a date 

Time: 9 am – 4 pm

Included: Paddle Canada Instructor

Required: Board, Paddle, Leash, PFD (Bring your own or rentals are available for $50)

Prerequisites: Prior experience suggested but not necessary. 

Class Min/Max: Min 2/Max 6

Price: $195 +$50 (rentals if needed)

What to bring (if you’re missing any gear let us know and we can likely help you out)

  • Wetsuit/Drysuit for immersion and rescues (not needed during summer)
  • Neoprene Booties
  • Neoprene Gloves
  • Towel
  • Bring a change of warm clothes including a waterproof shell and mid layer.

  • Snacks

Drew has been a Paddle Canada Instructor for 6 years. After owning a SUP shop in London Ontario, Drew travelled west and is enjoying the coastlines, lakes, rivers and beaches of BC.
