SUP Shoreline Tour

Our popular and well-loved Shoreline Tour has been customized for stand up paddle boarding. Departing from Snug Cove we head either north towards Finisterre Island in view of the Coastal Range and the Lions or heads south along the rugged coastline towards Apodaca Beach, Bowen’s only Marine Park. We go at pace suitable for SUPs and the group’s abilities.

Prepare for close encounters with wildlife. We often see Bald Eagles, seals and seabirds, including Scoters, Goldeneye and Buffleheads. The island’s plentiful deer wander into view above the beaches and, a few times every season, lucky paddlers find themselves a few hundred metres from a pod of White-sided Dolphins or a couple of Orcas.

This tour is suitable for adults and youth aged 14+ with some SUP experience. If you’ve never tried SUP before please start with the 2-HOUR LESSON. 

We start with on-land instruction to ensure that you are comfortable and confident before launching . Our guide to paddler ratio is 1:6 ensuring your safety on and off the water. Your guide will be happy to share some paddling tips to ensure you have the best trip possible and they’re always on the lookout for amazing wildlife to share with you. We launch directly from our docks at Bowen Island Marina. Your guide will help set up your board and safety equipment before heading out.

• Change of clothing
• Warm day: Synthetic board shorts, hiking shorts, t-shirts 
• Cold day: Wetsuit 
• Light weight wind and/or rain jacket
• Hat and suncreen
• Sunglasses with “croakies” or keepers
• Water bottle
• Snacks
• Waterproof case or ziplock bag for cell phone, camera, valuables
• Neoprene booties, watershoes 

Personal items like a change of clothes can be left at the kayak shop. 

Tips are always appreciated by our guides and dock staff. If desired, gratuity can be added to your reservation in advance,  paid at the shop or given as cash ~ Thank you!
